The Country Club at the Legends offers a spectacular golf experience in the beautiful Meramec River Valley. The courses at the Legends are a testimony to Robert Trent Jones’ philosophy that “every hole should be a hard par and an easy bogey.” Mr. Jones designed the 27-hole course to challenge the experienced golfer, while accommodating the casual golfer. The golf course is enhanced by over 25 acres of lakes, tree-lined fairways, meandering streams and well-trapped greens.

Enjoy a full country club experience
Missouri Athletic Club members have the opportunity to enjoy a full country club experience at the Legends. Those MAC members who choose to participate will be able to sign up for full golf privileges as would be experienced in any country club. You can join the Legends for $250/month for a 12-month commitment. You will receive full membership privileges including unlimited rounds of golf, locker, driving range, pro shop buying opportunities and country club amenities. For more than a century, the Missouri Athletic Club and Glen Echo Country Club have been regarded as two of the premier clubs in the Midwest. Now, the two historic clubs are teaming up to offer their members an exciting opportunity through a new reciprocal agreement. MAC members can now take advantage of many of the amenities at the beautiful golf club such as golf and dining.

Glen Echo’s history is rich and dates back even further than the MAC. An earthquake in 1812 caused massive flooding to many areas in the state. Land was offered to landowners affected by the flooding, and a 138-acre piece of land was acquired by several families before landing in the hands of the Hunt family. At the turn of the century a group of prominent St. Louisans were interested in forming their own golf club. Their interest turned to the Hunt property since it was located close to rail lines. They reached an agreement with the family and on May 25, 1901 Glen Echo officially opened. Glen Echo is the oldest 18-hole golf course west of the Mississippi. In 1904, the club gained national recognition when it hosted an Olympic golf tournament.

This year, MAC golfers will get the opportunity to play one of the top country clubs in the Metro East area. From April 15 through Oct. 15, MAC members and their guests will get the opportunity to play St. Clair Country Club. Each MAC member may have a maximum of three guests to fill out his/her foursome.

• All charges incurred will be billed back to the appropriate MAC member’s account.
